Detailed Mapping - S Vein

Eby / Otto Township - Kirkland LakeBack to Detailed Mapping

This impressive quartz vein is over 30 cm wide and shows evidence of folding and/or faulting.

The pyrite-albite alteration style found in this vein is associated with many of the gold ores in the Larder Lake break system. Pyrite in the vein has caused the rusty discolouration seen in this structure.

A closer examination of the S-Vein shows both the rusted vein pyrite and also the pyritic albite wall rock alteration.

This area of the claim group has been even more extensively stripped in the past month, extending the vein even further.
